Joan combines colour, shape and texture within her rugmaking.

Hebrew Letters

The letters of the hebrew alphabet
are the subject
of many of her drawings and paintings,
sacred geometry
is another source of inspiration
for her artwork.

Bone Art

She enjoys creating site specific art within the gardens of Gorse Hill which combine with her Maya Lila program.

She is an avid explorer and experimenter in combining different mediums for example woven grasses and bone sculptures, silk and bone, wood bone and grasses, stone silk and bramble root, sheeps wool and turf sods.
